After breakfast, your journey into the wild truly begins as you head to Tarangire National Park, a treasure trove of wildlife that remains refreshingly off the beaten path compared to its more famous neighbours.

The park stretches along the Tarangire River and is dominated by gentle hills across the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Its dramatic landscape features Acacia woodlands, giant ancient Baobab trees, some of which are thousands of years old, and vast swamps in the south. During Tanzania's dry season, both the river and the swamps act as powerful magnets for wildlife, drawing animals from across the region.

Tarangire is renowned for having some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. In the afternoon, you will drive to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural wonder of Africa. Standing on the rim and gazing into this ancient geological marvel is an unforgettable experience. Approximately 600 metres below, the crater floor supports a permanent population of more than 30,000 animals. It is also one of the few places in Africa where you have an excellent chance of seeing the Big Five in a single day.
