Your Tanzania adventure begins the moment you land. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your Wildflip Safaris driver will be waiting to greet you with a warm welcome and transfer you to Masai Land Hotel in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania.

Depending on your arrival time, you will enjoy a hot lunch at the hotel before taking a leisurely walk around this vibrant East African city. Arusha sits in the shadow of Mount Meru, at the foot of the Great Rift Valley, and its lively atmosphere perfectly sets the tone for the adventures ahead. Return to the hotel for dinner and a well-deserved night's rest before your first full safari day.

After breakfast, your expert guide picks you up, and the safari truly begins. The drive to Tarangire National Park takes approximately two hours through the scenic Arusha countryside. The park follows the course of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Its landscape is covered in acacia woodland and dominated by one of Africa's most iconic trees, the giant African baobab.

Tarangire is renowned for having some of the largest elephant herds in Africa, and during Tanzania's dry season, the river and swamps act as a magnet for wildlife from across the region. The park is also home to three rare and special species, the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and the endemic Ashy Starling, making it a must-visit destination for serious wildlife enthusiasts.

Enjoy a full-day game drive through Tarangire's varied landscapes, ending at your tented camp for sundowners, dinner, and an overnight stay listening to the sounds of the African bush.

After breakfast, your adventure continues westward towards the world's most famous savannah, the Serengeti National Park. The drive itself is a spectacle, winding through the highlands and offering breathtaking views as the road descends into the legendary open plains.

Upon entering the Serengeti, you will begin your afternoon game drive in a park celebrated worldwide for its immense herds of herbivores wildebeest, gazelles, and zebras, pursued relentlessly by predators in their great annual migration to permanent water holes. This timeless spectacle is unequalled anywhere in the world. The afternoon light on the endless golden plains as you look for lions, cheetahs, and leopards is a moment that stays with you forever.

Dinner and overnight at your tented camp, falling asleep to the sounds of the nocturnal Serengeti.

Rise before dawn for one of the most thrilling experiences in all of wildlife travel: a full day game drive in the Serengeti. Your guide will choose the best game viewing locations based on the season and the latest sightings, ensuring you maximise every moment in this incredible park.

Spend time at the Hippo Pool, watching these magnificent creatures laze in cool water alongside crocodiles. Witness a pride of lions, perhaps in the middle of a hunt. Be immersed in the migration itself, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest stretching to the horizon, sometimes by zebras that travel alongside them in a millennia old partnership.

Journey from the wide open plains to the kopjes, ancient volcanic rocky outcrops that provide shelter for a remarkable variety of wildlife. From these elevated vantage points, you can look out across the vast Serengeti grasslands and appreciate the sheer scale of one of Africa's greatest wildernesses. Elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions and if fortune favours you, the elusive leopard and cheetah await at every turn.

Today's safari adventure turns south and continues towards the legendary Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and once listed among the Seven Wonders of the World (approx. 6 hours, 180 km). As you approach, the sheer scale of the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest intact volcanic caldera gradually reveals itself.

You will descend 600 metres into this magnificent crater for a half day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas on Earth, home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania's last remaining black rhinos. With a year round water supply and lush grazing, the crater supports vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant elephants all contained within its walls like a natural Eden.

The Ngorongoro's predator population is exceptional lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever elusive leopard. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor surrounded by wildlife, before ascending to your stunning lodge perched on the rim for dinner.

After a final breakfast with views over the crater rim, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your domestic flight to Zanzibar. As your plane begins its descent, you will immediately understand why Zanzibar is one of the world's most celebrated tropical islands, the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean shimmering in every shade of turquoise and aquamarine are an extraordinary sight after days on the savannah.

Your Wildflip Safaris driver will collect you from Zanzibar International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Jambiani, one of the most serene and unspoilt beaches on the island, located on the remote southeast coast. Jambiani is quiet, calm, and beautifully underdeveloped, the perfect antidote to safari excitement.

In the evening, you have two wonderful options: dine at your hotel, or head to the legendary Forodhani Garden food market in Stone Town, where local chefs prepare mouthwatering Swahili seafood dishes right on the seafront under the stars.

Wake up at your own pace on the shores of the Indian Ocean. For those feeling adventurous, the morning offers an optional Spice Tour, Zanzibar has been known as the Spice Island for centuries, and a guided tour through the lush spice plantations lets you discover cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, black pepper, nutmeg, and dozens of other exotic plants in their natural environment. You will taste, smell, and learn about the spices that once made this island the most valuable piece of real estate in the world.

After midday, your driver takes you north to Kendwa, where you will discover one of Zanzibar's most celebrated beaches. Kendwa's coastline features golden sand with shimmering water that reflects the clear tropical skies, and a shallow, warm ocean that is perfect for swimming at all tides. Spend the afternoon soaking up the island paradise before returning to Jambiani for dinner.

Begin your morning with an optional boat trip to Prison Island (Changuu Island), a short boat ride from Stone Town. This historic island is home to a colony of giant Aldabra tortoises, some believed to be well over 100 years old. You can hand feed these magnificent ancient creatures in a truly memorable encounter. The island also holds fascinating colonial history and crystal clear snorkelling reefs.

Return to the hotel to enjoy the full delights of Zanzibar's beaches for the rest of the day. A wide range of water sports and beach activities are available including snorkelling over the vibrant coral reefs, beach volleyball, traditional dhow boat trips, scuba diving, and more. Or simply stretch out on the white sand with an exotic fruit cocktail and let the tropical warmth wash over you.

Your penultimate day on Zanzibar is yours to spend exactly as you wish. There is no agenda, no schedule simply the rhythm of the Indian Ocean, the warm tropical breeze, and the perfect white sand beneath your feet. This is the reward at the end of an extraordinary safari journey.

You might choose to explore further perhaps hire a bicycle and ride through the fishing villages and mangroves of Jambiani's coastline, or try a traditional Swahili cooking class.
