Tour Plan

Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Start your adventure with a drive from Moshi to Machame Gate. After registration, begin your trek through the lush rainforest. Keep an eye out for Colobus monkeys as you hike to Machame Camp (3,010m), where you'll spend your first night under the stars.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Today's trek takes you from the forest into the moorland zone. The trail steepens and opens up to vast, open vistas. You'll cross several streams before reaching Shira Camp (3,845m), situated on a plateau with stunning views of Kibo Peak.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

This day is crucial for acclimatization. You'll hike to Lava Tower (4,630m) and then descend to Barranco Camp (3,960m). The hike through the alpine desert showcases dramatic landscapes and unique vegetation. The descent helps your body adjust to the altitude.

Day 4: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp

Climb the Barranco Wall, an impressive but non-technical rock scramble, and traverse glacial valleys to reach Barafu Camp (4,640m). The camp offers magnificent views of the summit. Rest early in preparation for the summit attempt.

Day 5: Summit Day – Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Begin your summit push around midnight. Trekking through the night, you'll reach Stella Point (5,739m) at dawn, and then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Mweka Camp (3,110m) for a well-deserved rest.

Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

The final descent takes you through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate. After receiving your summit certificates, drive back to Moshi for a celebratory meal and some much-needed relaxation.
