Gombe Stream National Park

Gombe Stream is Tanzania’s smallest national park, but it holds a special place in the world of wildlife conservation. This remote park, set along the shores of Lake Tanganyika, is where Dr. Jane Goodall conducted her groundbreaking research on chimpanzees in the 1960s. Visitors can trek through the park’s forested mountains to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat. The park’s steep valleys, streams, and waterfalls create a lush and intimate environment for wildlife viewing. Gombe is also home to other primates, such as olive baboons and red colobus monkeys, as well as a rich variety of bird species.
